ONE BEDROOM apartment in east village available for one (or possibly two) year sublet. Right in the heart of the east village, you will be close to the shopping and nightlife that gives the zone its infamy. From this location you can prowl pretty much all of lower Manhattan by foot, should you choose. A Trader Joe's is around one corner and a movie theater another. You won't lack for coffee shops.

The apartment is sizable by east village standards, 450 Square feet or a bit more. There is. a large kitchen, a living room, a small bedroom with a dressing room attached. Of course, the rooms can be utilized in other arrangements. Over the years, I have changed them round.

This is, however, a traditional east village tenement apartment that has not been remodeled in decades. Apartment will be unfurnished, although a few items can remain at the sub-tenants discretion. The apartment is newly repainted, but it is funky and bohemian, so please don't expect a slick modern pad.

I am looking for a stable individual who can pass a conventional owners background search. Some flexibility needed in scheduling start-date as I must submit potential subtenant to my landlord for credit check. This could conceivably take 30 days. Sept 1 is a more likely move-in date, but for the right person I could vacate for Aug 1.

I am available to show the apartment after email introductions. Please send me a few lines on your situation, desired start date, and any biography that might reassure me.

Subtenant will pay rent directly to the landlord. My present lease expires on May 1, 2026 but I will renew.

At the expiration of the one or two year sublease, I will resume tenancy of the apartment.
