I am asking only $1,800 per month, in exchange for caring for my two cats, Cersei and Khaleesi, while I am away. In total, calculating in the reduction in rent (45% discount on my $2750 rent), the value of utilities and Internet, and the value of the apartment being furnished (15% of rent), I am offering a cost savings of about $1,500 per month. Apartment amenities: Washer/dryer in unit. Two a/c window units, purchased brand new in June 2025. Fold-out sleeper sofa, purchased brand new in April 2025. Robot vacuum that runs daily for cat hair. Gas stove. Air fryer, microwave, toaster oven, Vitamix blender, drinkmate soda maker. Brand new cookware including Le Creuset. Printer, computer monitor. 5 min walk to F train, 15 min walk to B/Q. Ideally, I would like someone who would enjoy playing with them and keeping them company once in a while too! I will not require you to send me photos, and my cats do not need any special care. I will of course be covering the cost of all the cats’ needs (will provide all their food and litter before leaving, etc.). Their dry food is in an auto feeder; you only have to refill every 4 days. They have a litter robot so no scooping; just has to be emptied every 7-10 days. The only thing they need daily is wet food. No health issues. I will of course provide my contact information should anything come up, and contact information for both my vet and my network of friends in the neighborhood just in case. About me/this deal: I am a severely burnt out nonprofit immigration attorney in desperate need of a break. So I am going to be taking a short sabbatical abroad. I love my cats dearly; they’re 10 year old sisters, and I’ve had them since they were about 12 weeks. I’d love to take them with me, but I’ve decided it would be best for them to stay in their own home with a cat friendly person rather than attempt to travel with them. This way they can avoid the trauma of long international flights, a potential quarantine, and a new environment that they would have to leave again after only a few months.
